Sarah-Jane Redmond
Sarah-Jane Redmond is a familiar face to network TV devotees. Born in Cyprus before eventually settling in Vancouver, Redmond has been a working actor for nearly 20 years.
Sarah-Jane originally began her performing career as a dancer in Toronto before transitioning to theatre and film acting at the William Davis Centre. She soon began her own theatre company, Holy Barbarians, and jumped into the growing Canadian film and television industries as an actor in the 1990s. Since then, she's had recurring spots in The X-Files, Millenium, Harsh Realm, Andromeda, Alienated, Da Vinci's Inquest, Da Vinci's City Hall, The L-Word, Smallville, Kyle XY, Harper's Island and Life Unexpected, and guest roles in many, many more.
Redmond's film credits are equally varied, with The X Files: I Want to Believe, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and many others to her credit. In 2006 she starred in occult thriller The Entrance, playing a police detective who faces off against a Satanic figure (portrayed by fellow New Image College acting instructor Frank Cassini). Redmond garnered a Leo Award nomination for her performance.
Now Sarah-Jane Redmond will be teaching a number of acting classes under acting department head Philip Granger. Redmond and Frank Cassini recently collaborated on directing a production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, the darkly comic courtroom drama written by Stephen Adly Guirgis – where the Devil is again a prominent character. Judas Iscariot is ran July 28th to 29th, 2011 here at New Image Theatre.
