ADMISSIONS POLICY
General Requirements

Applicants must complete the online or paper program application form and submit for acceptance.

Submit proof of identity (official government picture identification) (attach file)

Pay or negotiate a payment date for the non-refundable application and assessment fee of $250 CDN fee (International: $300 CDN fee)

Pay or negotiate a payment date for the non-refundable CO-OP fee of $1,800.00 CDN fee (CO-OP Students only)

Submit an application assessment essay (500 words) about you and your dream of becoming a professional make-up artist, spa technician or an actor. Please note that this essay will be an essential factor when assessing your application for acceptance into the program.

For diploma/certificate programs, applicants must have a valid high school diploma or be at least 19 years of age or older. If students are currently enrolled in high school, transcripts for the last term will be required (attach file if required, for applicants younger than 19 years of age) and those under the age of 19 must have parental consent. Upon acceptance, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign the registration as consent.

Have a detailed financial plan to cover tuition expenses. Choose from a variety of tuition payment options provided by New Image, or, if using a different payment plan, you must submit a letter detailing your personal financial plan for approval.

Meet the specific program requirements.

Meet English language requirements.

Wait for your application to be assessed.

Upon application acceptance, applicant must meet with a New Image admissions representative, in person or online, fill out a final New Image registration form, and read and sign registration and refund policies.

Pay tuition fees. Following the financial plan that you submitted at the time of application, a New Image admissions representative will assist you with final details to complete your payment.

Read and sign the New Image Student Policies and Procedures booklet.
NOTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Upon receiving full tuition New Image will release the proper documents which the student will need in order to apply for a Canadian Student Permit, and in case of Co-op program applicants, Canadian Work permits as well.
English Requirements
Students applying for any New Image programs are required to demonstrate their ability to write and speak English at an acceptable level.
If your second language is English, but you can speak and write it well, our admissions representatives can give you an English assessment over the phone to assess your acceptance into a program.
Note: New Image does not require a specific test score in order to accept international students into our programs; the phone interview will be sufficient to determine your ability to study at New Image. But, if you possess records of English language test scores and would like to submit them, please feel free to do so in your application.
Program Specific Requirements
Spa Technician/Nail Technician Diploma Program Specific Requirements
Applicants must display a high-level of interest in learning the skills used in a salon, spa, and/or the rest of the beauty industry, including Nail Technician, Skin Care, and Body Care. When submitting an application, you must
attach an application assessment essay (500 words) about you and your dream of becoming a Professional Spa or Nail Technician. Please note that this essay will be an essential factor when assessing your application for admission. Applicants must also meet the general requirements as well as the English requirements. No past experience is required.
Fashion and Film Make-up Design Diploma Program Specific Requirements
Applicants must display a high-level of interest in learning the skills used in the Make-up industry. When submitting an application, you must attach an application assessment essay (500 words) about you and your dream of becoming a Professional Make-up Artist. Please note that this essay will be an essential factor when assessing your application. Applicants must also meet the general requirements as well as the English requirements. No past experience is required.
Film Acting Conservatory Year One Program Specific Requirements
Applicants must display a high-level of interest in learning the skills used in the areas of performing arts. When submitting an application, you must attach an application assessment essay (500 words) about you and your dream of becoming a professional actor. Please note that this essay will be an essential factor when assessing your application. Applicants residing in Vancouver must complete a successful audition/interview at the New Image campus. Out of town or international applicants must prepare a phone/internet audition or interview. Applicants must meet the general requirements and English language requirements. No past experience is required.
Film Acting Conservatory Year Two Program Specific Requirements
Applicants must have an acting diploma from New Image College of Fine Arts or equivalent. Equivalents are defined as one of the following:

1 year Performing Arts Diploma / Certificate from a private post secondary educational institution.

1 year BFA s from any college or university.

2 years of professional experience in the entertainment industry.
*If an applicant fails to meet the Minimum Admission Requirements, New Image College of Fine Arts cannot waive any of the requirements.
*New Image College of Fine Arts reserves the right to refuse admission to any applicant or recipient of a scholarship for any reason other than scholastic.
All regular supplies and equipment will be provided for each student at no charge additional to the regular tuition fees. Kits and supplies may change from time to time without notice.
