New Image is always working on something new! Our student actors, make-up artists, staff, faculty and contracted artists are a creative bunch, and we love nothing more than creating and performing wildly entertaining films and plays. Theatre & Drama

At New Image, we put our students through rigourous acting classes that include supporting and lead roles in dramatic presentations both long and short. Though the general focus of our acting classes is upon acting for television and film, we believe that live theatrical training is absolutely vital in building the skills of any actor, in making them well-rounded performers and teaching them the history of their craft. Theatrical acting brings with it unique challenges distinct from camera acting, and New Image's dramatic presentations are conducted as tests of those skills.

Our drama courses are taught by top-tier theatrical instructors with years of experience and deep abiding love for live theatre of all kinds, which we are happy to pass on to our students. Through our acting class programs, New Image has produced runs of plays from all genres and styles, from classical tragedy to the Brechtian avant-garde, from gritty urban thrillers to hilarious screwball comedy.

Short Films

In the course of our acting lessons, New Image faculty, guest instructors and contracted filmmakers guide students through the entire process of auditioning, casting and producing original short films. These shorts can vary from five-minute pieces to thirty minutes or more, and all are constructed to complement each student actor's unique style and talents.

Some of these films are built around screenplays from contracted writers, and others are scripted by the classes themselves. Many of these shorts have been used in our graduates' demo reels and have secured them employment in the film industry. These short films can be seen in their entireties here on the site.

Feature Films from New Image Entertainment

The final test of our two-year Film Acting Diploma students is a role in a full-length feature film from our specialized feature department New Image Entertainment. These films are more than demo reels -- they are full-scale features with worldwide DVD distribution, written and directed by established cult and independent filmmakers.

We currently produce wild films in the horror and fantasy genres, maximizing the talents of both our student actors and students of our make-up courses, who work in concert to deliver a thrilling cinematic experience. New Image Entertainment has completed several feature films already, and we're always working on the next!
