SALOMÉ
New Image College of Fine Arts' professional acting department is proud to present a live theatre production of Salomé, the famous tragedy by Oscar Wilde. Salomé premiered November 12, 2010 and was directed by John Emmet Tracy.
Salomé, like all Oscar Wilde's plays, is a rich and ornate script, adorned with the poetic dialogue characteristic of his writing. In contrast to the flippant drawing-room comedies for which Wilde was known, however, Salomé is a deliberate and dramatic piece fraught with tension, tragedy and matters of life and death, set amidst the larger-than-life mythical backdrop of Biblical Galilee.
