HomeNIC CommunityNew Image College founder, Bill Dyck awarded Queen’s Jubilee Platinum Medal

Today we are celebrating the founder of New Image College, Bill Dyck receiving the highest honour for his service to youth and adults in Canada as he has been awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Platinum Medal.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal is a commemorative medal created to mark the seventieth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the thrones of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms in 2022. The medal is being awarded to people who have made a contribution to the well-being of their community in Canada.

Bill Dyck founded New Image College in 1980, along with his wife. Both were extensively trained as clinical marriage and family physiologists, with years of philanthropy work within British Columbia and around the world, specifically India and China.

New Image College started with the goal of providing an opportunity for abused women to develop a “new image” for themselves. It initially focused on fashion design, etiquette courses, and self-confidence seminars and then expanded to film & TV acting and makeup/ esthetics.

New Image College is still proud to offer scholarships to young actors to help open up doors for those who may not have had those opportunities otherwise.

Congratulations on an amazing achievement, Bill!
