This time our 2nd YearFilm Acting Conservatory students are bringing this magnificent play to an even greater audience to tide you through those new Fall blues!
New Image College’s Second Year Graduating class presents A Tennessee Night, an evening of short 1 Act plays by America’s pre-eminent 20th Century playwright Tennessee Williams. His portraits of “down on their luck” characters are painted with affection, humor and truth:
The Lady of Larkspur Lotion, the story of a woman’s slide into delusion in order to cope with life’s harsh realities…
The Long Good-Bye, a young writer is confronted by the ghosts of his past and the uncertainty of his future…
Hello From Bertha, a sick prostitute is evicted from the bordello by a manipulative and pragmatic Madame…
This Property is Condemned, a girl deals with the scars of death and abandonment as she befriends a young man with ulterior motives…
Talk to Me Like the Rain, a man attempts to piece together the chaotic shards of an alcoholic blackout as his partner attempts to piece together a very distant and different existence…
The Demolition Downtown deals with a suburban family rocked by nearby explosions as their downtown is obliterated, a casualty of the “second” American Civil War…
Moony’s Kid Don’t Cry, a shotgun wedding, a newborn baby, money troubles and the dawning realization that these two cannot stand each other…
Williams’ penetrating insight is coupled with his lack of judgement and total acceptance of all his characters… as revealed through the stories of these brilliant broken souls.
