Program Overview
The Film Acting Conservatory Co-Op program is a three-year immersive journey designed for international students aiming for professional careers in TV and film.
The first two years focus on intensive actor training, covering movement, voice, text analysis, scene study, and advanced on-camera performance. Students progressively tackle more complex projects, from scene exercises to performances and on-camera presence. Students will perform in theatre productions, advanced film projects, practice auditioning, and create their own demo reels — essential tools for professional success.
The final year is a co-op work term, enabling international students to gain professional experience in Vancouver’s bustling film industry.
Guided by industry mentors, students refine their craft, gain real-world insights, and build a portfolio that demonstrates technical skill, versatility, and professional readiness.

Admission Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 19 years of age or hold a High School diploma.
- Submit a completed Student Application Form and Admissions Questionnaire (available in paper or online formats).

Applicants seeking direct entry into Year 2 of the Film Acting Conservatory program must meet the following additional requirements:
- Hold an Acting Diploma from New Image College or an equivalent qualification. Equivalency is defined as one of the following:
- Performing Arts diploma/certificate from a recognized private postsecondary educational institution.
- A 1-year BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from any accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the entertainment industry.

The Film Acting Conservatory Co-Op curriculum guides students from foundational acting techniques to advanced on-camera performance.
Across three years, you’ll explore text analysis, scene study, movement, voice, improvisation, theatre, and film projects.
The program culminates in a co-op work period, where students can join the industry, gaining valuable professional experience in Vancouver’s TV and film market.
This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education & Future Skills.
