Below you will find further detailed information about our financial policies, fees, payment conditions and assistance.

From our experience, we understand that each student has different needs in their education and also in their financial planning. Our Admissions Representatives are prepared to guide you through our payment options and what is best for you.

Fee Payment

New Image College fees are payable in Canadian dollars and we accept Visa, Mastercard, email transfers, bank wires, cash and cheques.

Education is an investment that will last a lifetime. Financial planning is an essential part of the registration process and often a large support network may be involved.  New Image College assists in this process of determining which financial option is best for each individual scenario and we offer payment plans with no interest due.

Application Fee

When you apply to New Image College, please complete the non-refundable payment of your application fee.

Tution Deposit

Once you have received confirmation of acceptance into your program of study, you will be asked to complete program registration forms. A tuition deposit will be required at this time to secure a placement on your desired course date. Tuition deposit amounts are determined during your financial planning with an advisor.

Tuition Balance

The balance of your tuition will be due as per your financial plan discussed and confirmed on your registration forms.

Please note that in accordance with Canada Border Services Agency, New Image College does not accept sums of payment over CAD$10,000 which is the maximum amount of any currency or monetary instruments you can cross the border without declaring. Any amount over CAD$10,000 is not accepted by New Image College.

Financial Aid

During your registration process, your advisor will discuss various options of methods to pay your tuition fees. The following are options for you to consider. For certain methods of payment you may require a Confirmation of Enrollment (COE). This letter will be issued to you once you have completed the registration process with your advisor

New Image College Payment Plans

This is a non-interest, monthly payment plan structure that allows you to pay your tuition during the course of your study period. Tuition must always be paid in full 30 days prior to your tuition completion date.

National Student Loans and Provincial Student Loan

National and Provincial Student Loans are available to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents and landed Immigrants who are enrolled in a full-time program at New Image College.

The amount of funding you receive is based on the tuition, length of your program, fees, books, supplies, household income, available resources, marital status and other factors and reaches a maximum yearly level that varies province by province.

Canada Registered Education Savings Plan

An RESP is a tax-deferred, savings vehicle generally used by parents/grandparents to save for their family’s post-secondary education. Click here to view more details

Life Learning Plan (LLP)

LLP is a program that allows Canadian residents to withdraw funds from their Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs), without penalty, to fund their education. The LLP allows you to withdraw up to $10,000 per year (to a maximum of $20,000) for you, or your spouse, without the withdrawal being taxed. You have up to ten years to pay back your withdrawal.

To apply, you must have an official letter of acceptance for a full-time program from New Image College.

Refund policy

Tuition fees are indicated on each of our program outlines and the Student Enrolment Contract. Be advised that the Application Fee is non-refundable.

New Image College Refund Policy is in accordance with the PTA Act established by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of British Columbia.

Circumstances when refund is payable

the institution receives a notice of withdrawal (applies to all students)

    • No later than seven days after student signed the enrolment contract, and Before the program start date.
      • Amount of Refund: 100% tuition and all related fees, other than the application fee.
        At least 30 days before the later of:
        a) The program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance (international students)
        b) The program start date in the enrolment contract.
    • Amount of Refund: The institution may retain up to 10% of tuition, to a maximum of $1,000.
    • More than seven days after the student and institution signed the enrolment contract, and less than 30 days before the later of:
      a) The program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance (international students)
      b) The program start date in the enrolment contract.
      • Amount of Refund: The institution may retain up to 20% of tuition, to a maximum of $1,300.

the institution provides a notice of dismissal or receives a notice of withdrawal (applies to all students, except those enrolled in a program delivered solely by distance education)

    • After the program start date, and up to and including 10% of instruction hours have been provided.
      • Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 30% of tuition.
    • After the program start date, and after more than 10%, but before 30% of instruction hours, have been provided.
        • Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 50% of tuition.

“no-show” (applies to all students except those enrolled in a program delivered solely by distance education):

  • The student does not attend the first 30% of the program.
    • Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 50% of the tuition paid.

(applies to international students requiring a study permit):

  • Before 30% of instruction hours would have been provided, had the student started the program on the later of the following:
    a) The program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance
    b) The program start date in the enrolment contract
  • Student has not requested additional Letter(s) of Acceptance.
    Amount of Refund: 100% tuition and all related fees, other than application fee.

Institution provides a notice of dismissal or receives a notice of withdrawal for a distance delivery program:

    • Student has completed no more than 30% of the program
      Amount of Refund: 70% of tuition
       
    • Student has completed more than 30% but less than 50% of the program
      Amount of Refund: 50% of tuition
       
    • Student has completed 50% or more of the program
      Amount of Refund: No refund due

New Image College will pay the tuition or fee refund within 30 days after receiving notice of withdrawal or refusal of study permit; providing notice of dismissal, or the date on which the first 30% of the hours of instruction are provided (no-show).

Refund Payment Methods

Refund payments are by cheque and in Canadian Dollars only (no exceptions). Refunds are paid by cheque (only) to be picked up on the 30th day (due date) at our Granville Campus. If you wish to proceed with an alternative method of refund, please see the costs below:

Mail: $20 administrative fee + any mailing fees will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. Please provide the full address with the postal code.

E-transfer: $20 administrative fee will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. Please provide a valid email address.

Bank Transfer: $120 administrative fee + any other bank fees will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.

Once accepted into a program, students must pay a tuition deposit in accordance with their contract and payment plan agreements. Contracts vary, but payments are due in accordance with your contract agreement.
All payment plans require post-dated payments, and a post-dated payment method is required before students begin college.
If tuition is not paid according to the payment plan dates, the student will be unable to attend/stay in class and may lose the benefit of the payment plan.
Once the post-dated payment method of your above choice is provided it will be used to process your upcoming tuitions.

There is an option to pay your tuition in one payment, however, there are also generous payment plan options. To discuss these different options, contact New Image College and an Admissions Representative will go over all options to suit your budget.

All tuition must be paid 30 days before completion of the study portion of the program. In the case of a withdrawal/cancellation/dismissal, bursaries and scholarships are null and void and a refund is calculated based on full tuition due. You may be charged additional administrative fees if you don’t pay your scheduled installment payment in time. Please email [email protected] if you have any other questions.

Yes. We understand that no student is the same and there are many different circumstances. New Image College will assist you in applying for financial aid through the province of British Columbia or your home province.

There are different scholarships for high school graduates and depending on the program, there might be bursaries available for you at the time. To find out what is available for your desired start date, contact our Admissions team to discuss this further.

At New Image College, your citizenship status usually determines whether you’ll pay domestic or international tuition fees. Domestic fees are available for eligible students if:

  • You are a Canadian citizen.
  • You hold multiple citizenships and one of them is Canadian.
  • You are a permanent resident of Canada.
  • You have refugee status in Canada; or
  • You are the dependent of a diplomat assigned to Canada.
  • You may be required to provide documents that verify your eligibility for domestic tuition fees.

If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you will be required to pay international tuition fees at New Image College.

In the event of a change in post-dated payment, a $40.00 administrative fee will be charged. If you want to switch to another post-dated payment method (only the options listed above), please keep in mind that you must contact the College at least 7 (seven) business days before the due date and complete the payment by the due date. If we do not receive your contact as stated above, the post-dated payment method you have already provided will be processed on the dates and amounts specified in your enrollment contract. Please email [email protected] if you wish to change your post-dated payment method.

In the event of a change in payment date within the same month, a $40.00 administrative fee will be charged. A change payment is defined as a payment that is due within the month but is postponed to another date within the month. For example, your payment is due on the 3rd of the month, and you wish to postpone this payment to the 30th of the same month. Please email [email protected] if you wish to change your payment date.

In the event you request to skip a monthly payment of your payment plan, a $100.00 administrative fee will be applicable. The amount of your skipped monthly payment will be added to your next payment due. A skipped monthly payment is defined as a payment that is due within that month and is postponed to being paid within another month. For example, your payment is due on the 3rd of the month, and you wish to postpone this payment to the 3rd of another month. Please email [email protected] if you need to skip a payment,

In the event you want to advance payments from your payment plan, these extra payments in any given month will be applied to the last months of your payment plan. For example, you pre-pay 2 extra installments of your Payment Plan in January and have a Payment plan that runs until December. These 2 installments will be allocated to November and December payments, NOT February and March. Please email [email protected] if you wish to advance your payments.
