Todd Thomson

As an actor for over twenty years, Todd has worked extensively in theatre and film and television. As a company member of the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival for ten seasons, Todd performed in over twenty Shakespeare productions. Highlights include, Orlando in As You Like It, Caliban in The Tempest, Orsino in Twelfth Night and Macduff in Macbeth.

In 2005 Todd was nominated for a Jessie Richardson award for outstanding performance for his
portrayal of the title role in Macbeth and won the Jessie Richardson award the following year
for outstanding performance as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice.

Todd’s film work includes recurring roles in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, When Calls the Heart, Debris, Project Blue Book, Travelers and Supernatural and guest starring roles in, Tuner & Hooch, Family Law, Motive and Stargate Atlantis.

Todd also works in voice-over and walla direction. Todd has directed walla for four seasons of Virgin River and Snow Piercer; two seasons of Family Law, and one season of Reginald the
Vampire, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Astronauts and Allegiance. Todd has also directed walla for the feature films Nobody, Violent Night and Bad Genius as well as for Madden Football and FIFA Soccer with E/A Sports.

Todd studied at Circle in the Square and Caymichael Patten Studios in New York City. He studied improv comedy with Second City in Toronto for three years and performed with Vancouver Theatre Sports League for five years.

Since 2004, Todd has worked extensively with the Young Shakespeareans program at Bard on the Beach. Having taught Shakespeare workshops and directing abridged version of Shakespeare’s plays to hundreds of young people.
