Courses Included
The Acting 101 curriculum was designed with the concept of providing valuable knowledge and building core skills for aspiring actors as an introductory program upon which they can build on subsequently.
You will uncover the process of every successful actor’s repertoire. This module will provide you with the skills used to develop specific, detailed and dynamic acting choices through verbiage, intention and stakes. In life, we speak with the intention. Text analysis will teach you how to uncover the meaning behind the written word, focusing on how to be specific with your character’s intentions, and how to bring reality into the fictitious worlds that we create as artists.
The Hero moves, speaks and acts differently than the Villain. This module will teach you how to embody the physical and vocal demands of the character. You will develop an awareness and sense of relaxation, encouraging you to take bold chances with your characterization. For a character to become alive, you have to fearlessly free them from the page. As every award-winning actor can attest, this module will arm you with the ability to utilize your complete physicality and vocal range to create a truly unique character.
One of the best ways to learn acting is by using the Scene Study technique. Here we’ll take a deep dive into it and help you unravel your true acting talent. In this section, you will utilize award-winning techniques used to rehearse and prepare scenes with your fellow actors. This interactive module will allow you to create a three-dimensional character capable of outstanding scene performance.
This module gives you the opportunity to utilize all NIC’s pre-recorded instructor videos, scripts, and character breakdown sheets throughout the 14 weeks to arm yourself with the ability to present two live Zoom performances for your family and friends. This module and its materials are specifically designed to support and expand on our live instructor seminars. This is where you’ll be putting everything into action. After all, we are an action-based school.
