Ana Valine

Ana Valine is an award-winning writer and director who is recognized as one of Canada’s best-emerging filmmakers. She has written, directed and produced fiction, experimental and documentary films through Rodeo Queen Pictures. Ana Valine most recently directed, wrote and co-produced the Rodeo Queen Pictures and Foundation Features co-production feature, Sitting on the Edge of Marlene.

The feature earned 3 Leo nominations and 4 Vancouver International Film Festival nominations, including Best Canadian Feature Film and Best BC Film. At VIFF, Ana would also earn the prestigious award for Best Emerging BC Filmmaker and the best Women in Film Award.

Sitting on the Edge of Marlene would also receive the Best Canadian Feature Jury Award at the Toronto Female Eye Film Festival under Ana’s direction. New Image invited all current and alumni students of our film acting conservatory program to this amazing opportunity to learn from one of Vancouver’s rising directors.
