Last Thursday, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, Shalini Kantayya, with a long track record of creating films that lead to meaningful public education filmed NIC graduate Aleysha Johnson for her next documentary about TikTok. Her latest documentary film, Coded Bias premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim, was broadcast on PBS Emmy-Award winning series Independent Lens, and is now streaming on Netflix globally. She is now writing a documentary about TikTok, and its impact on Generation Z, featuring Aleysha Johnson.
