Amira Anderson is an actress-writer, originally from Niagara Falls, Canada. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance and International Studies before participating in Obsidian Theatre Company’s Mentor Apprenticeship Program and studying acting for film and television at Vancouver Film School. She has written, produced, and acted in many short films, two of which are proofs of concept for TV series. Amira has appeared on stage in How the Deed is Done (Tomosuru Players), Intimate Apparel (Belfry Theatre), and Dracula: the Burlesque Musical as Dracula (Geekenders) and in various roles across several major networks and streaming platforms, including NBC, CBS, Netflix, Apple TV+, Hallmark and Lifetime. Her short film, Amara (which she executive-produced, co-wrote and starred in), premiered on OptikTV and made the Official Selection for Canada Shorts – Canadian & International Short Film Festival and Vancouver Black Independent Film Festival, as well as Honourable Mention at the Women’s International Film Festival.
