After weeks of scene study, rehearsal, and preparation, second-year students in NIC’s Film Acting Conservatory are now doing what they’ve been building toward — filming their demo reels on location across Vancouver.

Taking scenes out of the classroom and into real locations is an important step in an actor’s training. It asks students to stay grounded in their work while adapting to new environments, and to bring the same level of preparation and presence they’ve developed in rehearsal to an actual set.

The result is footage that reflects not just their acting ability, but their readiness to work professionally. The collaboration and support students have shown each other throughout this process has been wonderful to see!

With more scenes still to film, we’re looking forward to watching the final cuts come together. 🎥
