Take a sneak peek inside an action-packed training.
Action on screen looks effortless, but behind every convincing fight or fall is careful, deliberate craft. Selling movement safely is a skill in itself, and it’s one our acting students are learning to master.
In NIC’s Action for Actors class, students work through choreography step by step, building scenes in pairs and gradually adding intensity, speed, and sound. The goal isn’t just to make it look real. It’s to make it land right for the camera, where timing and angle change everything.
Under the guidance of instructor Yu Matsushita, students learned to trust their scene partners, stay in control, and bring energy to every take while keeping safety front and center.
It was great to see everyone working together and pushing themselves. These are the kinds of skills that carry straight onto a professional set.
