2nd year film acting students take the stage

WINTERTIME marks an important step forward for students in the second year of the Film Acting Conservatory program. Having already developed stage experience in their first year, this production challenged the cast to build on that foundation with deeper character work, stronger ensemble dynamics, and a more demanding rehearsal and performance process.

Unlike their first-year stage work, the second-year play requires students to approach the material with greater independence and professionalism. From script analysis and character development to maintaining focus and consistency across performances, the cast worked collaboratively to elevate the production and deliver a confident, engaging performance.

Directed by Jack Gillet, WINTERTIME was developed in a structured, industry-style rehearsal environment, allowing students to refine their craft while responding to detailed direction and feedback. The result was a cohesive production that reflected both individual growth and a strong collective presence on stage.

Written by Charles Mee, WINTERTIME explores themes of isolation, connection, and human resilience, unfolding through a series of intimate moments and shifting relationships. Set against a winter backdrop, the play invites the audience into a reflective world where characters are forced to confront change, uncertainty, and the impact of their choices. The material required nuance, emotional range, and sustained focus from the performers.

Stage productions, such as WINTERTIME, are a core component of the Film Acting Conservatory, reinforcing essential performance skills that translate directly to on-camera work. For these second-year students, this play represents continued artistic development and a meaningful step toward professional-level performance.
