Ryo Mishima, currently is in his Film Acting Conservatory Co-op program , is a powerful example of how focused training and real-world experience can transform talent into a thriving career✨

After auditioning and being accepted into New Image College’s intensive film acting program in Vancouver, Ryo committed himself fully to the process, approaching each class, rehearsal, and shoot with unwavering discipline and passion.

At NIC, Ryo not only delivered standout performances on stage—most memorably as R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest—but also built a strong foundation through a wide range of on-camera projects. He performed in numerous short films throughout the program, learning to adapt to different roles, work with professional crews, and understand the technical demands of acting for the screen. These experiences sharpened his craft and prepared him for the realities of the industry.

NIC’s comprehensive training program gave Ryo the tools to thrive—from script analysis and emotional truth to movement, voice, and camera technique. His time here shaped not only his abilities but his confidence and professionalism.

Currently, Ryo is filming a major feature film and two national commercials. He quickly is becoming one of the most exciting emerging Japanese actors working today. He continues to lead with initiative, now producing a play with fellow Japanese artists. Ryo was introduced to his agent through NIC’s Showcases.
