Netflix has released a solo character poster for Alyssa Wapanatâhk ahead of Little House on the Prairie, and it’s official confirmation of just how big a role she has in this series. The poster puts her front and centre as White Sun, alongside the show’s title and its July 9 premiere date.
White Sun is a series regular, married to Mitchell in the show, and her story is part of the series’ focus on the Osage community whose land the Ingalls family settles on. To bring that portrayal to life with real care, Alyssa worked closely with cultural consultants throughout production, the kind of preparation that goes well beyond memorizing lines.
A graduate of NIC’s Film Acting Conservatory, Alyssa has also appeared in Peter Pan & Wendy and Bones of Crows. Little House on the Prairie has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere, a strong signal of the show’s scale and Netflix’s confidence in it.
Her path from NIC’s classrooms to her own poster on a major Netflix original is exactly what focused training and real talent can lead to. We couldn’t be prouder.
